HOUGHTON, MICH. – The University of Alaska Anchorage concluded competition at the US Cross Country Skiing National Championships with the freestyle sprints Saturday.
Ari Endestad qualified 26th overall. He finished second in his quarterfinal heat but saw his day come to end with a sixth-place finish in the semi-finals.
Matt Seline advanced to the heats of the junior boy's race where he placed fourth in the quarterfinal heats.
Peter Hinds finished 36th in qualifying and did not advance to the heats.
"Ari had a really good race today and is getting closer and closer to where he should be," said associate head coach Trond Flagstad. "Matt also made the heats in the junior race, a step up from the first sprint race. Peter has had four solid races here, and I am excited to see what he will do in Bozeman."
Alaska Anchorage will compete at the Montana State Invite Jan. 13-14.
