Caeden Carruthers was 27th (1:32.52), and William Cashmore was 31st (1:35.22).
"Solid day for Ainsley," said head coach Sparky Anderson. "She helped herself get closer to qualifying for an NCAA Championship berth. Still need to have a good day tomorrow. The guy's battle is much more uphill. Hunter was seventh on the second run. Hopefully he can do that twice tomorrow. Everyone is hammering. Looking to either improve in the championship rankings or gunning for that last spot. It's super tight. Tomorrow is sure to be filled with excitement. Another season hangs on a mere place point or two. The last day is always a nail biter."
Nora Brand of Denver won the women's race (1:29.13), and Wilhelm Normannseth of Utah won the men's (1:25.62).
UAA finished fifth of nine teams with 449 points.
The Seawolves will compete in the NCAA West Regional Championships Friday. The Nordic skiers will compete in a 5/10-kilometer freestyle race, and the Alpine skiers will compete in a slalom race at Alyeska.
