STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLO. – The University of Alaska Anchorage ski team posted four top-10 finishes at the CU Invite Saturday.
Pascale Paradis finished ninth in the five-kilometer freestyle in a time of 15:07. Tuva Granoeien placed 22nd (20:14).
Magnus Noroey was the top Seawolf in the men's 10-kilometer race finishing eighth in 27:27.
Ari Endestad and Matt Seline finished ninth (27:29) and 10th (27:34).
Sigurd Roenning was 16th (28:31), and Peter Hinds was 19th (29:00).
"Today was a much better day for us!," said associate head coach Trond Flagstad. "I am happy to see that the boys turned it around despite the altitude. They really skied their heart out! Pascale had another great day and skied to another top 10 in skate. We are looking forward to some good training days at altitude, and then we will be race ready in Minturn Friday and Saturday next week."
UAA is currently sixth of seven teams with 174 points.
Anna-Maria Dietze of Colorado won the women's race in 15:07, and Sam Hendry of Utah won the men's race in 25:52.
The UAA Alpine skiers will compete in the CU Invite Feb. 9-10.
