SEATTLE – The University of Alaska Anchorage track and field team opened their indoor season at the UW Preview Saturday in Seattle.
Kevin Angarita placed seventh in the 400 with a time of 48.67, the fifth-fastest time in school history. He ran 7.06 in the 60 to place 19th. His time is tied for eighth-fastest in school history. Angarita anchored the 4x400 relay to a sixth-place finish in 3:29.59.
The women's 60 hurdles was a bright spot for the Seawolves with Liv Heite placing 12th in 9.18, the eighth-fastest time at UAA. Mette Van der Meer ran 9.22 to finish 14th, and Blanca De Arvizu Sarrias was 15th in 9.23, tied for ninth fastest in school history.
Nell Baker finished 26th in the mile in 5:02.52, the ninth-fastest time at UAA.
Anders Larsen finished 11th in the long jump with a leap of 21-3.25, the eighth-best mark at UAA.
The women's 4x400 relay ran 4:01.05, the 10th-best time at UAA, to finish seventh.
In the men's 200, Brian Morris finished 10th (22.59), and Riday Jana was 12th (22.65).
Jess Chisar placed 13th in the women's 400 in 1:00.56.
UAA will compete at the UW Invitational Jan. 25-27.
