Hockey faces Friars this weekend

Alaska Anchorage will make its final road trip to the East Coast this weekend when it plays at No. 9 Providence Jan. 19-20th.   

Series
Providence and Alaska Anchorage have met five previous times with the Friars winning all five meetings. The two teams have met just one time in Rhode Island with Providence winning 5-4 in overtime on Nov. 24, 1990. 

Polls
Providence is ranked ninth in both national polls this week. UAA is 2-6-0 this season against ranked opponents. 

Third Start
Freshman Greg Orosz made his third start of the season last week and Alaska Fairbanks. The native of Gyor, Hungary made 36 saves in the 2-2 tie with the Nanooks. He has posted a 1-1-1 record in seven games with a 4.37 goals against average and an .882 save percentage.

Senior Ben Almquist recorded his team-leading 17th point of the season with an assist last week at UAF. The native of Victoria, Minn., has scored six goals this season, second most on the team and leads the team with 11 assists. He is currently on a three-game point streak (one goal, two assists).

Alaska Anchorage has had 11 different players record a multiple-point game this season.

Five of Alaska Anchorage's 11 losses this season have been by one goal.
