Montana Fairbairn excelled in her first career all-around performance to highlight the Alaska Anchorage gymnastics team's season-opening meet Friday at the Alaska Airlines Center.
UC Davis won the dual competition 195.125-186.250 behind a 39.025 all-around effort from Amelia Moneymaker and a 39.000 all-around from Emma Otsu.
The Seawolves opened with a solid 47.675 score on vault, matching their second-best total from a year ago. Freshman
Maddy Murphy led the way with a 9.625, along with a 9.6 from Fairbairn and a 9.575 from senior
Brooklyn Kopsack.

Claudia Lessig earned a 9.55 and senior
Jessica Johnson a 9.525 to join Walker above the 9.5 barrier on bars, while Johnson had a 9.675 and Fairbairn a 9.525 to lead the Seawolves on beam.
UAA finished strong with its final two competitors on floor, getting a career-best 9.75 from Fairbairn and a 9.65 from sophomore
