SEATTLE – The Alaska Anchorage track and field teams posted several personal-bests and top-10 marks at the UW Invite Friday.
"Very solid day of competition for us," said head coach Ryan McWilliams. "Across the track and jumps we had at or just past our personal-best marks, which bodes well for setting up some big commotions in the near future. We are looking forward to getting out there and putting another solid day together."
The 60-meter hurdles were a prosperous event for the Seawolves who ran to five top-10 marks in school history.
Liv Heite ran 9.01 to finish 13th and tied for fourth-fastest in school history. Blanca De Arvizu Sarrias finished 14th in 9.02, tied for sixth at UAA. Lacie Simmons ran 9.35 to place 26th and 10th all-time in school history.
In the men's race, Anders Larsen ran 9.06 for 19th place and eighth-best in school history. Felix Robertson finished 20th in 9.07, ninth-fastest in school history.
Nell Baker ran 17:16.40 in the 5,000 to finish 17th and sixth all-time at UAA.
John Peckham ran 14:46.36 to finish 24th in the men's 5,000.
Cole Nash led a trio of Seawolves in the 3,000 finishing 44th (8:20.53). Ty Elliott was 67th (8:34.66), and Zach Kohler was 71st (8:36.93).
Mikayla Mader cleared 4-11 in the high jump to finish 25th and is tied for seventh-best at UAA.
Anders Larsen cleared 5-8.75, the eighth-best mark in school history, to finish tied for 14th.
Brian Morris was 11th (22.59) in the 200 and Riday Jana was 13th (22.71).
Alaska Anchorage will compete in the second and final day of the UW Invite Saturday.
