Montana Fairbairn earned victories on three events and freshman
Hannah Boyd delivered a 37.775 all-around Saturday to boost the Alaska Anchorage gymnastics team to its second straight victory, 192.300-182.675 over Greenville at the Alaska Airlines Center.
The Seawolves (2-5) also got strong efforts from sophomore
Jamilia Duffus, senior
Grace Costello and junior
Ariana DeSouza as they came just 0.200 points shy of equaling their season-high score.
The Panthers (0-4), from Greenville, Ill., were led by a 9.725 from Amara Nelson on beam, tying Fairbairn for top honors on that apparatus.
UAA started strong on vault, sweeping the top four spots with Fairbairn (9.7), Duffus (9.7), Boyd (9.6) and freshman
Maribelle Albert (9.6).
Junior
Alyssa Manley – returning from an injury that cost her the entire 2024 season – had her best performance of the year to tie with teammate
Jada Niles atop the bars podium at 9.675, while Lessig earned a 9.6.
The Seawolves recorded a season-best 48.300 total on balance beam, led by Fairbairn and Boyd (9.7). DeSouza flipped to a 9.65, Costello a 9.625 and
Breeann Spain a 9.6 as UAA took five of the top six spots.
UAA also swept the podium on floor with a winning 9.725 from Fairbairn, a 9.65 from DeSouza and a 9.6 from Boyd, who earned her first career all-around victory.
