PARK CITY, UTAH –
Murphy Kimball of the University of Alaska Anchorage was named to the 2025-26 Stifel U.S. Cross Country Development Ski Team.
Kimball, a native of Anchorage, represented the United States at the 2025 World Junior Championships in Schilpario, Italy finishing 26
th in the classic sprints. He has competed in five sprint races on the World Cup with a career-best finish of 28
th in the classic sprint in Falun, Sweden in 2025. Murphy finished third in the classic sprint at the 2025 US National Championships held at Kincaid Park.
"We are very excited to see Murphy get this recognition and the chance to attend some high-quality camps with the best xc skiers in the nation including former Seawolf JC Schoonmaker," said associate head coach
Trond Flagstad. "A part of our goal is to develop skiers to a level where they have opportunities to keep skiing after college."
UAA alum JC Schoonmaker returns as a member of the A-Team. The Lake Tahoe, Calif., native has competed in 70 World Cup races since making his debut in 2020. His highest finish was a third-place showing in the classic sprint in Ostersund, Sweden in 2023. Schoonmaker represented the United States at the Beijing Olympics in 2022, finishing ninth in the team sprint finals, 15
th in the freestyle sprints and 66
th in the 15-kilometer classic.
UAA will compete against UAF in the Alaska Cup Nov. 22-23.
