MONMOUTH, ORE. – John Peckham and Ty Elliott will both represent the University of Alaska Anchorage at the NCAA Div. II Cross Country National Championships after finishing fourth and fifth at the NCAA West Region Championships hosted by Western Oregon Saturday.
The duo earned all-region honors after running 29:36 and 29:38 respectively over the 10-kilometer course.
Ben Browning finished 30th (30:43), Ethan Ackroyd 37th (31:05) and Samuel Roy 50th (31:20).
Anthony Porter was 56th (31:27), and Matt Rongitsch was 58th (31:29).
The UAA men finished fourth out of 23 teams with 126 points. The Seawolves will find out Monday if they earned an at-large spot as a team for the NCAA Div. II Cross Country National Championships hosted by UW-Parkside Nov. 22nd.
Alexandra Otto was the top Seawolf in the women's race finishing 31st (21:21). Ryann Smith was 38th (21:25).
Makendra McCarty and Lilli Lindner finished 66th (21:52) and 87th (22:14) respectively.
Avery Williamson was 105th (22:33), Gracie Puit 118th (22:49) and Gloria Kiprotich 127th (22:57).
The UAA women finished 12th out of 28 teams with 324 points.
Damian Garcia of Chico State won the men's race (29:26), and Bethany Mapes of Biola won the women's race (20:29).
