SHREVEPORT, LA. – The University of Alaska Anchorage had four gymnasts, Jada Niles, Claudia Lessig, Alyssa Manley and Montana Fairburn, qualify for the individual event finals at the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championships.
Jada Niles led the Seawolves with a career-best 9.825 on the balance beam to finish third. Her previous best was 9.625.
Claudia Lessig tied her career-best of 9.800 to finish tied for fourth on the balance beam.
Alyssa Manley finished tied for fourth on the uneven bars with a score of 9.800.
Montana Fairbairn tied for fifth on the vault with a score of 9.700.
The Seawolves were led on the floor exercise by Ariana DeSouza who finished tied for sixth (9.775) and Montana Fairbairn who placed tied for eighth (9.750).
The event finals will take place Sunday at 11 am.
The Seawolves earned several awards from the WCGNIC.
Montana Fairbairn earned the Mari-Rae Sopper Spirit Award.
All 20 of the Seawolves on this year's roster earned the scholar athlete award and all five UAA seniors earned the Senior Award.
