BELLINGHAM, WASH. – The University of Alaska Anchorage track and field teams recorded six top-10 program marks at the Pee Wee Halsell Open Friday.
Mya Campbell long jumped 5.76/18-10.75, the second-best mark in school history, to finish second. She finished second in the high jump after clearing 1.53/5-0.25.
Marc Mercier won the men's long jump with a leap of 7.16/23-6, the third-best mark in school history.
Ryann Smith ran 2:12.83 in the 800, the 10th-fastest time in UAA history, to finish third.
The hurdles were a bright spot for the Seawolves. AJ Szewczyk finished sixth in 15.64, tied for 10th-fastest at UAA.
Liv Heite ran 14.10 in the 100 hurdles, followed by Mette Van der Meer in third (14.53), Lacie Simmons fourth (14.57), the seventh-best time in school history, and McKinley Eddington seventh (15.78).
Tobin Schmidtke cleared 4.10/13-5.25 in the pole vault, sixth-best in school history, to finish eighth. He ran 16.02 to place seventh in the 110 hurdles.
Charlie Hulbert ran 1:54.95 in the 800 to place seventh, and AJ Szewczyk ran 22.01 in the 200, to place 10th.
Zuriel Guzman long jumped 6.26/20-6.5 to finish seventh.
The UAA women finished third and the men were seventh in the team standings.
Alaska Anchorage will compete in the Ralph Vernacchia Invite Saturday.
