BELLINGHAM, WASH. – The University of Alaska Anchorage won three events at the Ralph Vernacchia Open Saturday.
The Seawolves swept the long jump titles. Marc Mercier won the men's (6.89/22-7.25), and Mya Campbell won the women's (5.77/18-11.25). Her jump ranks second all-time at UAA.
Liv Heite won the 400 hurdles in 1:02.20 and finished second in the 100 hurdles in 14.05.
Mette Van der Meer finished third in the 100 hurdles (14.61), and Lacie Simmons was fourth (14.79).
The men's 4x400 relay of Peyton George, Ethan Stiller, AJ Szewczyk and Joshua Caleb finished second (3:21.91).
The women's4x400 relay of Lacie Simmons, Liv Heite, Lucia Garcia and Mya Campbell finished third (3:56.68).
John Peckham ran 14:29.16 over 5,000 meters to finish third.
Vivien Liessfeld long jumped 5.63/18-5.75 to finish third, and threw the javelin 36.82/120-9 to place eighth. Her javelin throw ranks fourth all-time at UAA.
AJ Szewczyk finished fifth in the 400 hurdles (56.79) and sixth in the 100 hurdles (16.22).
Riday Jana finished fifth in the 100 (10.70) and ninth in the 200 (22.14).
Tobin Schmidtke long jumped 6.54/21-5.5 to finish fifth and Peyton George ran 49.71 to finish fifth in the 400.
Ryann Smith ran 4:36.30 to finish sixth in the women's 1,500.
Charlie Hulbert split 3:58.82 in the 1,500 on his way to a time of 4:16.49 in the mile.
Both the UAA men and women finished fifth in the team standings.
UAA will compete in the GNAC Multi-Event Championships hosted by Western Washington Monday and Tuesday.
