MARLBORO, N.J. (Aug. 18) – The Alaska Anchorage gymnastics team has made history for the second year in a row, repeating as the national leader in combined grade-point average in the Women's Gymnastics Coaches Association's annual team academic rankings.
With a 3.8950 mark, the Seawolves earned the highest combined GPA in the 11-year history of the awards, while placing among the top two nationally for the third time in four years.
"We are incredibly proud of our student-athletes for once again setting the standard in the classroom," said UAA head coach
Marie-Sophie Boggasch. "Achieving the highest team GPA in the history of these rankings is a true testament to their commitment to excellence in every area of their lives. It truly reflects the culture of accountability, trust, and growth that defines us as Seawolves."
UAA edged Western Michigan (3.8880), Texas Woman's (3.8733), Arizona (3.8230) and Washington (3.8229) among the 86 NCAA institutions that sponsor women's gymnastics, getting 3.5-plus GPAs from 19 of its 20 squad members in 2024-25. Eleven of those Seawolves –
