ANCHORAGE (June 19) – The Alaska Anchorage men's basketball roster got another sizeable addition Friday as head coach Cameron Turner announced that Div. I transfer
Walker Timme has signed a scholarship agreement to play for the Seawolves.
A 6-7, 240-pound forward, Timme spent last season at Northern Arizona, where he played in one game before suffering a season-ending injury. The Richardson, Texas, native spent the previous two campaigns at junior college power College of Southern Idaho, helping the Golden Eagles to a combined 45-19 record and consecutive NJCAA Region 18 finals appearances.
As a sophomore in 2024-25, he averaged 11.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game, while shooting .533 from the field. He scored double figures 12 times, including a season-best 17 points against Colorado Northwestern, and posted a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double against Salt Lake. He averaged 10.0 points and 3.6 rebounds in 29 games as a redshirt freshman, with 14 double-figure scoring efforts and a career-high 23 points against Northwest CC.
"I am super excited to welcome Walker Timme to Alaska Anchorage," said Turner, who took over as head coach Mar. 31. "Walker comes from a winning background and has proven himself throughout his career. What stood out to us was his skill level, toughness, and basketball IQ. He's an elite post player with tremendous vision, the ability to draw double teams and make the right play. Walker impacts the game in multiple ways, whether it's scoring, rebounding, or creating opportunities for his teammates. I believe he fits perfectly with the Seawolf way and the culture we're building here at UAA. Walker is a find-a-way kind of player who brings ultra-competitiveness and winning mentality."
An all-district performer in the Dallas-area high school ranks, Timme spent his true freshman season at another Div. I program – McNeese State – where he redshirted in 2022-23.
He is one of three Timme siblings to play high-level collegiate sports, joining former Gonzaga All-American and current Los Angeles Lakers forward Drew, along with sister Kendall, who was the 2025 Big East Conference co-Freshman of the Year at DePaul.
Timme is the sixth player to sign since Turner assumed coaching duties this spring, joining
