Originally from Edmonds, Wash., Frankie-Lavallee holds the distinction of being UAA's only two-time Athlete of the Year, winning the award in 1986 and 1990. A three-time All-American in 1985, 1986 and 1990, Frankie missed most of the three seasons in between due to serious knee and ankle injuries.

A charter member of the Seawolves' gymnastics team when it began in 1984, Frankie earned her B.S. degree in health sciences from UAA in 1990, a master's of education degree in sports injury, prevention and management from Springfield (Mass.) College in 1992 and a master's of science degree in physical therapy from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell in 1995.

Frankie currently serves as gymnastics coach and choreographer at the Sterling Academy of Gymnastics as well as a physical therapist and clinical staff member at South County Physical Therapy - both in Leominster, Mass. She and her husband, John Lavallee, have a son, Carson.
