One of the most consistent Seawolves ever to hit the slopes,Zuzana (Razusova) RogersĀ [1995-98] becomes the first Alpine skier to enter the Seawolf Hall of Fame with her induction in 2011.
The native of Liptovsky, Slovakia, was a three-time All-American, capturing honors in the slalom as a freshman and junior, and in the giant slalom as a senior. As a junior in 1997, Rogers helped the ski team to its then-best placing at the NCAA Championships as the Seawolves finished fifth in the nation.
One year later, she captured numerous individual honors, becoming the first Alpine skier to win the UAA Athlete of the Year Award, and being named NCAA Woman of the Year for Alaska. Just as impressively she was a star in the classroom, twice earning GTE Academic All-America status (ā96, ā98).
The four-time Chancellorās List and three-time Deanās List student graduated in 1999 with a B.S. in natural science from UAA and earned a Masters of Physical Therapy from the University of Washington in 2003.
Rogers is currently pursuing her doctorate degree from Texas Tech University while living and working here in Anchorage as a physical therapist. She regularly volunteers time as a youth skiing coach and mentor, serving a wide variety community causes.
Rogers and her husband Andy are the parents of two children.
