SILVER CITY, N.M. (Jan. 8) - Glen Newbold posted a double-double and four Seawolves scored in double figures as the UAA men's basketball team notched its first Pac West Conference victory, 72-56, over Western New Mexico tonight. Newbold scored 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as UAA improved to 7-4 overall, 1-1 in the Pac West.

Guards Scott Larrabee and Taylor Wagner tallied 12 points each to lead the team, while center Serge Using contributed 10. The Seawolves shot 51.1 percent from the field while holding the Mustangs (3-8, 0-2 PWC) to 35.1 percent. UAA also connected on 9 of 16 three-point shots as Larrabee led the way by going 4 for 6.

The same two teams meet again here Monday night at 5 p.m. AST in a game that does not count in the conference standings.
