Men finish Jamboree with 72-44 win

ANCHORAGE – Taylor Rohde scored 14 points to lead a balanced scoring effort Sunday as the Alaska Anchorage men's basketball team won its seventh straight game with a 72-44 victory over Walla Walla in the AT&T Jamboree at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex.

The Seawolves (8-3) posted their sixth straight double-digit victory as they also got 12 points apiece from senior forward Casey Robinson and junior wing Lonnie Ridgeway.

The Wolves (0-16) were led by 18 points, six rebounds and four assists from sophomore guard Tristan Greenidge.

Two days after posting a 105-67 win over Walla Walla, the Seawolves trailed 12-10 early Sunday before Mario Gill sparked a 10-0 UAA run with a three-pointer.

Rohde, a 6-9 junior center, shot 6 of 8 from the field to solidify the Jamboree's Most Outstanding Player honor, while Robinson was named Player of the Game after notching all 12 of his points in the first half, including three three-pointers.

Ridgeway, a 6-3 junior, shot 5 of 7 in just his third game back from an 18-month layoff, adding team-highs of five rebounds and three steals.

The victory improves UAA to 34-7 all-time in the Jamboree, including a current 10-game win streak.

The Seawolves are now off until Dec. 30 when they travel to Ellensburg, Wash., to begin Great Northwest Athletic Conference play against nationally ranked Central Washington.
