ANCHORAGE (Feb. 19) - Greg Freeman scored 18 points to lead five Seawolves in double figures as the UAA men's basketball team easily downed Western New Mexico 94-69 at the Sports Center Saturday night. UAA (15-9, 4-6 Pac West) got the victory despite allowing Jacob Marin of WNMU (8-16, 2-9 PWC) a game-high 33 points on 12-of-16 shooting.
The Seawolves shot an impressive 53.8 percent from the field, including 14 of 27 (51.9 percent) from three-point range. Freeman led the attack with 6-of-11 shooting while dishing out a career-high nine assists. Chris Hamey had 16 points, while Scott Larrabee finished with 15, all on three-pointers. UAA senior center Chris Lewis had 14 while providing perhaps the biggest thrill of the night by banking in his first career three-pointer.
The Seawolves close the season at home next week with a Thursday game against league-leading BYU-Hawaii and a Saturday contest with Hawaii Pacific.
