CALIFORNIA – The University of Alaska Anchorage closed out a busy weekend of competition at the Aztec Invite and the Point Loma Invitational Saturday.
Liv Heite moved to fourth all-time at UAA in the 100 hurdles after running 14.27 and finishing 19th.
Blanca De Arvizu Sarrias placed 26th in 14.64, the seventh-fastest time ever at UAA.
Mette Van der Meer finished 30th (14.78), and Lacie Simmons was 33rd (14.98).
Heite finished 13th in the 400 after running 1:03.22, the fifth-fastest time ever at UAA. Sarrias finished 21st (1:05.75).
Kevin Angarita finished fourth in the 400 (47.81) and eighth in the 200 (21.97), the eight-best time in school history.
Marc Mercier placed ninth in the long jump (23-0), and Mikayla Mader finished tied for 11th in the high jump (5-1.25).
Eric Bushnell threw the discus 127-6 to finish 10th.
Zachary Kohler and Ty Elliott finished 11th (1:57.21) and 13th (1:59.20) in the 800.
Joei Vidad placed 24th in the 400 (58.73) and Brian Morris was 14th in the 200 (22.35) and Riday Jana was tied for 15th (22.45).
John Peckham won the 1,500 at the Point Loma Invite in 4:00.70. George Payne and Ries Tveit finished sixth (4:06.06) and seventh (4:07.11).
Nell Baker finished fourth in the women's 1,500 in 4:50.32. Jordan Strausbaugh was sixth (4:51.73) and Avery Williamson was 11th (5:00.16).
UAA will compete at the Stanford Invite and the Mike Fanelli Track Classic March 29-30.
